New Setup Question

Hello,

I have several CENTOS 6 Linux servers and clients. I would like to create a private network using the Mellanox equipment for high speed data transfers between servers, and between servers and clients using "NFS version 3 and 4".

Not being familiar with the Mellanox product, is there any documentation on best practices for setting up, selecting, and setting up the equipment.  Preliminarily, I have looked at using the following:

Equipment List:

2 -  Mellanox infiniband  SX5012 Switches

1 - Mellanox ConnectX-3 Pro EN MCX313A-BCCT  or Mellanox ConnectX-3 Pro EN MCX314A-BCBT

( I would guess that the cables are included with each adapter)

I'm thinking two cards per server so I can manage the traffic better.

Questions:

1. Are there any other components required to do the above?

2. Can the NICs be used to connect servers peer to peer without the switch?

3. Is there a limit on how many NIC can be placed in a server(besides physical)

4. If the cables are not included can point me to the correct cables

5. Can the SX5012 Switches be linked together via on board ports?

6. Is the management software included with the switch or does this need to be purchased separately?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

If this has been asked before, please point me to the thread.

Thanks!
