One more thing under the "Supported HCAs" section of the OFED 1.5.2 release notes, Connect-X IB is listed as a supported HCA but there is no explicit mention of Connect-X 3, will it still work ?

Had the same problem here. We had to go back to 6.3 because the newer kernel on 6.4 and beyond is not supported by the Mellanox RPMs for this chip since they dropped support for the 1.5x series of FW....
