Sorry to hear about the noise situation. I'm not sure of a way to lower the noise, but if you think it is unusually high, you may want to check if the fan vents are covered / stuck with any debris....

The SX1012 has more noise than a comparable 1U switch. If you are hearing rattling, that is not normal. The fans or fan cases could be damaged during shipping, It is unlikely this would happen on both...
