Found some information on how to calculate fiber cable loss budget

Now the quiz of the day is how much of loss budget, in dB, we have if using a pair of "Mellanox QSFP to LC" MC2210511-LR4 running on Single mode fiber at 1310nm (actually 4 wave lengths )
The "optical modules" pdf just says 10km, but the total length is of course dependent on the number of cross connections and the cable quality.
So a proper cable budget calculation is a must. Better safe than sorrow . ;-)
