Re: ConnectX-3 & Hybrid Passive Copper QSFP to 4x SFP+ 10Gb/s Cables

Without knowing much about the requirement and their topology, here are a couple of ideas.

  • Use the dual port 10GbE SFP+ ConnectX-3 EN adapter and use them in a LAG. (MCX312A-XCBT)
  • If your application needs more bandwidth, you could buy the SX1012 which is a 12 port 40GbE switch. The ports to the server would be 40GbE and the ports to your 10GbE switch would be 10GbE
  • The third option is to use the QSFP to SFP+ cable or QSA adapter on an existing 40GbE ConnectX-3 adapter. Note- that these are not for splitting but to enable sfp+ connectivity on an QSFP port.

I would suggest that you work with a Mellanox SE so we can best suggest a solution that suits your needs. Please contact us at support@mellanox.com if you would like to do that.

Thanks

Anand
